    Plaquenil can make you go blind as a side effect so while on it, you have to go to the optician once a month for an eye test just normal vision test, nothing special.     What is the blood work protocol while taking. Blood tests for monitoring of methtrexate consist of CBC and platelet count as well as liver function tests to keep track of potential liver and bone marrow damage. What is the blood work protocol while taking hydroxychloroquine and methotrexate? I've had bloodwrk once in the year I've been taking these 2 drugs. I'm being treated for RA.
